Quick recap from Super*Market! Again, I was too caught up in the excitement to take a bunch of pictures, so I hope a bunch of booth photos will do :)
The weekend began with ZambiCandy meeting up at my place and taking off to Bakersfield for a lunch date with Courtney (in 1st picture)! Then it was off to Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles, to set up our booths. This is where I wish I’d gotten more pics of the other fabulous booths because there were so many. The second to last photo is of Zambi’s booth. The last photo is of the cool things I’ve picked up from vendors ZambiCandy, Aurora Lady, Geeky Glamorous, and Kawaii Kakkoii Sugoi.
The third to last photo is of me and an old Livejournal friend of mine, Lani! I hadn’t seen her in years, and it was so awesome to randomly run into her! We definitely had loads to catch up on :) Also, the lovely Jennifer Erickson came to say hi. After the event winded down Jennifer, Zambi, Yume Ninja (of Bubble Punch), her boyfriend Alcuin, and I headed to Denny’s to nosh on food from the Hobbit menu. Also Jennifer gave me a Christmas gift of some lovely ceramic flower-shaped measuring cups!
Afterward it was off to Yume/Alcuin’s apartment to crash for the night (Thanks again guys!), then in the morning it was off to Blue Daisy Cafe for breakfast. Then of course off to the Fashion District for fabric shopping! Zambi and I met up with my buddy Alice and indulged in super unique fabrics and cheap clothes. We started running low on time so Zambi and I sped over to Little Tokyo for our Japanese candy fix and stopped by Anime Jungle and Fairytale Boutique.
So that’s it! I can’t wait for the next Super*Market! Thanks to all involved for an awesome time!

Quick recap from Bubble Punch’s Super*Market! This amazing weekend started Friday night when miss ZambiCandy came from up north to stay the night so we could take off to LA first thing Saturday. We went out for Bento, did some last minute dollar store shopping for our booths, then headed back to my place to do more prep work. First thing in the morning Katie joined us and we were off! We hit snow on the Grapevine, but nothing too scary. It was quite pretty actually.
We got to Meltdown Comics to set up and it turned out I had soooo much stuff I couldn’t fit it all. I had even reserved TWO booths! Can’t believe I stressed so much about making “enough product.” Oh well, I have enough for the next event! I tried getting lots of photos but I had to balance that on top of managing my booth and checking out the other booths. We also got some entertainment (a live debate podcast by Defective Geeks, as well as a lovely performance by the band Nylon Pink).
After the event we grabbed dinner and met up with Jennifer Erickson for the tail end of RAWartists. We caught the last couple of fashion shows and saw some art. We also saw a drunk guy just tear it up to the music on the stage until a bouncer escorted him off.
The next morning we headed off to Torrance to check out the new Daiso that had just opened the week before. Daiso is a chain of 100 yen stores (in the US it’s $1.50) that has super cute and high quality items like housewares, stationery, toys, snacks, gift wrapping, etc. (Chubby Bunny has a lil’ write-up on her blog!) Amazing how many items I didn’t realize I needed! After going next door to Marukai Market (and finding green tea Kit Kats, yay!) we had Okonomiyaki at a restaurant called Gaja.
We ended our trip with a small trek downtown for fabric shoppin’. Only I didn’t get much accomplished because most of my stores were CLOSED. Sigh.
Anyway, can’t wait for the next Super*Market! Great job, and thanks Yume and Michelle for inviting me!
